• Check the license of the manufacturing company and its logo.
• Check the surface of the TMT bar. It must be very hard.
• Hold the bar from one end and bend it towards the ground. If it bends too much then it may be fake. The bending must not also be too less. 
• Experience is the best teacher. So make your speak before buying the reinforcing steel.
